Dr. Orestes P. Monzon has lived a life where science and art converge. Trained as a physician specializing in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, he dedicated decades of service at the Philippine Heart Center and the University of Santo Tomas, shaping both patients’ lives and future generations of medical professionals. Beyond medicine, he found a second calling in the arts—photography, painting, and cultural advocacy—proving that healing extends beyond hospitals and into the human spirit.

The Artist’s Journey
After retiring from full-time medical practice in 2012, Dr. Monzon embraced the arts more fully. What began as photography during his residency years blossomed into exhibits such as Ordinary Photographs and Windows, Doors, Narrow Streets. He later transitioned into painting, studying under master painter Fernando Sena and collaborating with artist Angelito “Jo” Florendo in projects that merged photography and painting.
